What We Are Called Out For
Most of the calls we get come from houses built between 1962 and 2004, with a lot of that stock dating to the 1980s and 90s - Folsom and the areas around it grew up fast during that stretch, and the doors and openers from that era are starting to show it in predictable ways. Springs that have cycled tens of thousands of times without ever being touched. Openers from the 90s with worn gears or dead logic boards. Tracks bent from a car bumper or a basketball, rollers that have gone from nylon-smooth to grinding. We also get called for panels dented by weather or a backed-into trailer, and for cables that have frayed off the drum.
Because the heat here runs moderate rather than extreme, we don't see the kind of metal warping that shows up in harsher climates - our problems are more about age and wear than heat damage. A quote on any of this is only as good as what we actually see: the brand and age of the opener, the spring size and wind, whether the track is steel or aluminum, and whether the damage is cosmetic or structural. Tell us what you're looking at and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a repair or a replacement call.
What We Do Not Take On
We don't do new home construction installs where the opening itself hasn't been framed yet - that's a builder's job, not ours. We don't touch gate operators or commercial roll-up doors; our work is residential garage doors and openers. If a door has been so badly rusted or water-damaged that the frame itself needs rebuilding, that's carpentry work outside what we quote, and we'll say so rather than guess at a number.
We also won't give you a firm price over the phone for anything involving a bent track, a broken panel, or an opener we haven't seen run. A spring job is usually straightforward to price sight unseen once you give us the door's width and whether it's one or two springs. Everything else - track alignment, panel replacement, a header that doesn't sit square anymore - needs eyes on it first. Giving you a number before that would just mean padding it to cover the unknown, and we'd rather tell you what we actually need to look at.
Who Turns Up
We work out of Folsom and cover the surrounding area - Orangevale, Fair Oaks, and Gold River are a short drive in, with Granite Bay, Cameron Park, and Loomis a bit further out, and we also reach Shingle Springs, Foothill Farms, Mather, Rancho Murieta, Antelope, North Highlands, Penryn, La Riviera, Newcastle, McClellan Park, Rosemont, Rio Linda, Coloma, Diamond Springs, Vineyard, Elverta, Auburn Lake Trails, Wilton, North Auburn, Florin, Placerville, and Lemon Hill.
We're a residential garage door repair outfit - no sales pitch for a whole-house remodel, no upsell script. The person who answers the phone is the same person who talks you through what a part costs and why. We don't carry every opener model on the truck for every house built in the last forty years, so sometimes a part has to be ordered - if that's the case for your door, we'll tell you upfront rather than let you assume same-day.
How to Reach Us
Call 1 (916) 570-7652 and tell us what you're seeing - a door that won't open, a spring that let go, a track that's bent, an opener that just hums. The more specific you are, the more accurate the quote: the door's width (single or double), roughly how old the opener is, and whether the problem is new or something that's been getting worse for weeks.
We're based at 6609 Folsom Auburn Rd, Folsom, CA 95630. If it's easier to describe the problem than explain it over the phone, that's fine - we'd still rather see a photo or have someone look in person than quote blind on anything beyond a standard spring swap. You can also find more about what we do on our homepage.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For a straightforward torsion spring replacement, often yes, once we know the door's width and whether it runs on one spring or two. For anything involving a bent track, a damaged panel, or an opener issue, we need to see it first - guessing at those costs more than it saves you.
Do you install openers in brand new construction?
No. New construction installs where the opening hasn't been framed and finished yet are a builder's job. We handle existing residential garage doors and openers, repair and replacement, once the house is already standing.
Do you work outside Folsom itself?
Yes. We cover Folsom and reach out to Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Gold River, Granite Bay, Cameron Park, Loomis, and a number of other surrounding communities. Call and tell us your location and we'll confirm.
What if my opener part isn't on the truck?
Given how much of the housing stock here dates from the 1980s and 90s, we carry parts for common older openers, but not every model from every decade. If yours needs an ordered part, we'll say so on the call rather than leave you guessing.
